Dragos Kalajic (Belgrade, 1943 Belgrade, 2005) was a Serbian painter, journalist, writer and philosopher. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and gained international fame with a new form of hyperrealism. Even as a student he exhibited in Rome, Milan, Brussels and Belgrade. In Rome, he received an award for young artists in 1964. By organizing the exhibition “Restauration of paintings” churned up the Yugoslav art scene. It was in the gallery of the Cultural Center. The Pavilion “great wars” at Kalemegdan had the exhibition “New Figuration”. Besides painting intensively dealt with and writing, published several novels and studies such as “Folder (anti) utopias” 1978, “The end of the world” in 1980, “American evil” in 1993, “Released Europe” and “Russia Rising” in 1994. “The last European “2004. He was director of “Progress” gallery in Belgrade. He also worked on the film. Dragos Kalajic was a senator of the Republic of Serbian in the first election of the Senate in 1996. He died in Belgrade at the age of 63, on July 22, 2005.
