Black and white are contrasts and opposites. Through light and dark lines and spaces parts of a work are weighted. A physicalness and three-dimensionality occurs. The polarity in black and white works generates tension and clarity at the same time.
We are showing selected prints, works on paper, sculptures and paintings in black and white by modern and postwar artists like Pablo Picasso, Joan Mirò, Georges Braque, Jean Tinguely, Donald Judd, Richard Serra, Keith Haring, Tom Wesselmann, Frank Stella, Eduardo Chillida, Zoran Music, Bernhard Luginbühl, Ben Vautier, Bernar Venet, Vladimir Velickovic a.o.
